About the role

As a Refrigeration and HVAC Mechanic, you’ll provide day-to-day air-conditioning and refrigeration services across Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District, based at Wollongong Hospital.

Working as part of a trades team, you’ll help maintain essential HVAC and refrigeration systems across hospitals and health facilities, responding to maintenance priorities while minimising disruption to services.

Key Responsibilities

- Undertake planned and corrective maintenance, inspections, installations, alterations and fault-finding across HVAC and refrigeration systems.

- Work across plant and equipment including chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, fan coil units, split systems, BMS controls and sensors, heating hot water boilers, refrigerators, freezers, cold rooms and ice machines.

- Respond to maintenance and repair priorities and help deliver timely and efficient maintenance.

- Work with other trades, contractors and stakeholders to support protected and effective service delivery.

- Participate in the on-call system, providing 24-hour breakdown support and overtime when required.

While primarily based at Wollongong Hospital, you may also work across other hospitals, community centres and facilities throughout the District.





Applicants who hold an electrical trade qualification will be highly regarded.
