Mindaro Energy is a specialist renewable energy engineering company providing design and technical engineering services for Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and emerging energy infrastructure.

Our work ranges from commercial and industrial renewable energy systems through to large and technically complex projects, giving our engineers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of technologies, clients and project sizes.

We are a growing engineering business and are looking for a capable and ambitious Renewable Energy Project Engineer who wants to develop their technical skills while taking increasing ownership of projects and client outcomes.

About the Role

This is a hands-on engineering role combining renewable energy design, project management, client engagement and technical leadership.

You will design Solar PV and BESS projects, develop drawings and engineering documentation, coordinate other engineers and external providers, communicate directly with clients and take responsibility for delivering projects on time and within budget.

Projects will typically be within the commercial and industrial solar and battery sector, ranging from approximately 100 kW through to tens or hundreds of MW.

We want someone who understands the purpose of the project, thinks about how their design will actually be constructed, communicates proactively with clients and colleagues, and takes responsibility for getting the project successfully from scope through to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

You will

- Design Solar PV and BESS systems in accordance with relevant Australian Standards, industry requirements and client specifications.
- Develop safe, reliable, compliant and practical engineering solutions using internal design tools and specialist engineering software.
- Produce and maintain engineering drawings in AutoCAD in accordance with Mindaro's CAD and design standards.
- Consider constructability, safety and cost as fundamental parts of the design process rather than simply producing a technically optimised solution.
- Understand project scopes and ensure Mindaro and the client are aligned on requirements and deliverables.
- Develop project plans and coordinate engineering resources to ensure deliverables are completed efficiently.




- Delegate appropriate tasks to engineers, drafters and external providers and manage their delivery.
- Monitor project budgets and engineering hours to ensure projects remain commercially successful.
- Review engineering work and contribute to Mindaro's internal quality assurance processes.
- Provide clear technical guidance and constructive feedback to other engineers.
- Maintain regular and proactive communication with clients regarding project progress, technical issues and upcoming deliverables.
- Identify requests or changes that fall outside the agreed project scope and proactively manage variations.
- Continually identify opportunities to improve Mindaro's engineering processes, design tools, templates and project delivery methods.
- Maintain and develop knowledge of the Australian renewable energy industry, technologies, regulations and relevant Australian Standards.

The existing Mindaro role specifically places responsibility on the Project Engineer for delegation and project profitability, as well as reviewing and improving the work of other engineers.

Skills and Experience The ideal candidate will have:

- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Experience designing Solar PV, BESS or related electrical infrastructure.
- An understanding of Australian Standards and regulatory requirements relevant to renewable energy systems.
- Experience using AutoCAD to produce professional engineering drawings.
- Robust analytical and technical problem-solving skills.
- An understanding of practical constructability and the ability to develop engineering solutions that can actually be efficiently built.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- The ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence communicating directly with clients,



contractors and other engineers.
- A commercially minded approach, including an appreciation of project scope, engineering hours, budgets and variations.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to engineering quality.

Highly Regarded

Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:

- Commercial and industrial Solar PV design.
- Commercial or utility-scale BESS.
- Large-scale or utility solar projects.
- DC electrical design.
- Single-line diagrams, layouts, cable schedules and equipment specifications.
- PVSyst, HelioScope or other renewable energy design and modelling software.
- Detailed design and IFC documentation.
- Technical due diligence or owner's engineering.
- Project management.
- Managing junior engineers, drafters or external engineering resources.
- Client-facing engineering consultancy.
- Site inspections, commissioning or construction support.
- Solar Accreditation Australia accreditation or relevant electrical qualifications.

The Person We're Looking For

Technical capability is essential, but the way you approach engineering is equally important.

We are looking for someone who takes ownership.

If something in a scope isn't clear, you ask the question. If a design doesn't look practical to construct, you find a better solution. If another engineer needs direction, you provide it. If a project is heading over budget or falling behind schedule, you identify it early rather than waiting for someone else to notice.

You should enjoy solving engineering problems but also recognise that successful consulting requires good communication, commercial awareness and reliable project delivery.

Mindaro measures successful project delivery not only by technical quality, but by whether projects are delivered on time and within budget, whether external providers perform as expected, whether variations are identified before they affect the project, and whether clients are kept informed.

Pay: From $95,000.00 per year
