- Lead, develop and support a team of investment operations professionals.
- Manage day-to-day priorities and ensure responsibilities are clearly understood across the team.
- Provide coaching, technical guidance and ongoing development.
- Promote a collaborative, accountable and high-performing team environment.
- Act as a senior escalation point for complex operational matters.
Investment Operations
- Oversee the day-to-day operational processes supporting the organisation's investment activities.
- Ensure investment transactions, cash movements, reconciliations and other operational activities are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain appropriate oversight of investment and portfolio data.
- Work closely with investment teams to investigate and resolve operational issues.
- Ensure operational processes continue to meet the requirements of the investment function.
Operational Controls & Governance
- Maintain a strong control environment across investment operations.
- Identify operational risks and ensure appropriate controls and procedures are maintained.
- Support audit, regulatory and governance requirements.
- Maintain policies, procedures and operational documentation.
- Ensure operational incidents and exceptions are appropriately investigated, escalated and resolved.
External Service Providers
- Manage day-to-day relationships with custodians, administrators and other external service providers.
- Monitor service delivery and performance against agreed expectations.
- Coordinate the resolution of operational issues with external partners.
- Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
The Successful Applicant
Candidates will typically have 10+ years of experience within investment management or financial services, with demonstrated leadership experience across investment operations or a related function.
Experience within an asset manager, superannuation fund, private markets manager, wealth manager or other institutional investment environment would be highly regarded.
A relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related discipline is preferred. Relevant postgraduate or professional qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential.
You will ideally bring:
- Significant experience across investment operations, middle office, investment administration or fund operations.
- Strong understanding of investment markets and the operational investment lifecycle.
- Experience leading and developing teams.
- Exposure to multiple asset classes would be advantageous.
- Experience managing custodians, administrators or other investment service providers.
- Strong understanding of operational risk, controls and governance.
- Experience improving systems, processes and operating models.
- Ability to work closely with investment professionals and senior executives.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Commercial mindset with an understanding of how operations can support business growth.
