Fish Feast Narellan is looking for a motivated and reliable Seafood Retail Assistant / Processor to join our team.
We are a busy seafood retail business focused on providing customers with high-quality seafood, excellent service and great value.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with food, dealing with customers and being part of a quick-paced team.
About the Role
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Serving customers and providing friendly, knowledgeable service
- Preparing and processing fresh seafood including filleting, cleaning, cutting and portioning
- Weighing, pricing and packaging seafood
- Displaying and replenishing fresh seafood
- Preparing customer orders
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene
- Cleaning seafood processing areas, equipment and displays
- Receiving and checking stock
- Assisting with stock rotation and inventory control
- Operating the cash register/POS system
- Helping maintain an attractive and well-presented store
- Working as part of a team to ensure the store operates efficiently
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, punctual and hard-working
- Friendly and confident dealing with customers
- Comfortable working with fresh seafood
- Physically fit and able to work on your feet
- Comfortable working in a cold environment
- Able to work efficiently during busy periods
- Well-presented and takes pride in cleanliness
- A good team player with a positive attitude
- Willing to learn and take direction
Previous seafood processing or retail experience is highly regarded, but training can be provided for the right person.
Experience in a fish market, seafood shop, butcher, deli, supermarket or other food-processing environment will also be highly regarded.
