Kuubiik is partnering with an established, mid-sized accounting and advisory firm in Bondi Junction to appoint an experienced Senior Accountant within its Business Services & Tax team.

This opportunity would suit an Australian public-practice accountant who wants more ownership of client relationships, broader advisory exposure and a genuine pathway towards Manager level.

The opportunity

You will manage accounting and taxation matters for a diverse portfolio of privately owned businesses and individuals. You will work directly with clients and business owners, becoming a trusted point of contact across their compliance, taxation and broader business requirements.

The position combines hands-on technical work with client relationship management, tax planning, advisory exposure and support for developing accountants.

Key responsibilities

- Manage accounting and taxation matters across a portfolio of clients.
- Act as a key point of contact and build long-term client relationships.
- Prepare and review financial statements and income tax returns.
- Work across companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals.
- Prepare and review BAS, IAS and other taxation obligations.
- Meet with clients and provide practical advice on taxation and business matters.
- Assist with tax planning, structuring and broader business advisory work.
- Liaise with the ATO and other relevant authorities.
- Review work completed by junior accountants and provide guidance where required.
- Manage multiple client engagements, priorities and deadlines.
- Work closely with Managers and Partners while developing towards greater responsibility.

About you





- Approximately five or more years of relevant experience within an Australian public-practice accounting firm.
- Strong Business Services and Australian taxation experience.
- Proven direct client-facing experience, including managing relationships or acting as a regular point of contact.
- Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns across companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals.
- Sound knowledge of BAS, IAS, GST and Australian tax compliance.
- Confidence discussing taxation and business matters directly with clients.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team.
- CA or CPA qualification, or substantial progress towards completion, is highly regarded.
- Experience reviewing work or mentoring junior accountants is advantageous.
- Xero experience is highly regarded; HandiSoft or similar Australian tax software is advantageous.
- Full, unrestricted Australian working rights without the need for current or future employer sponsorship.
- Ability to work full-time from the firm’s Bondi Junction office.
