- We are looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Senior Associate to join our national Real Estate & Projects practice.
- This is an opportunity to work closely with leading Partners on complex, high-value transactions and projects for major domestic and international corporate, institutional and government clients across Australia. You will be trusted with meaningful responsibility, direct client engagement and the opportunity to lead matters, develop junior lawyers and contribute to the continuing rapid growth of the practice.

About the Role

We're seeking a highly motivated senior associate with exceptional technical skills to join our national, market leading real estate service team

You'll enjoy a combination of sophisticated work, meaningful responsibility and close Partner access on high-end, complex real estate matters, including large capital transactions, major property developments and complex leasing.

This is an opportunity to work with major domestic and international corporate, institutional and government clients, work closely with the Partners, and take on meaningful responsibility and contribute to the continued growth of the practice, the team and culture while building a career in one of the leading Real Estate & Projects teams in the Australian market.

Responsibilities

- You will have the opportunity to take primary responsibility for end to end file management of real estate transactional matters with senior practitioners, including:
- - capital transactions, including sales and acquisitions of land across all asset classes for corporate and institutional clients;
- property and project development,



including fund through transactions, development agreements, development management agreements, project development agreements and project delivery agreements;
- project due diligence
- complex agreement for lease and/or lease transactions involving commercial, industrial, retail and agricultural land;
- the real estate aspects of major projects, such as linear infrastructure projects involving roads, railways, pipelines or transmission lines;
- lease transactions involving leases of commercial offices and retail premises; and
- acting on large portfolios including asset management work associated with national lease portfolios (including renewals, variations, assignments and surrenders of lease.

- Work directly with clients and develop trusted commercial relationships
- The use of appropriate internal technological solutions, such as document automation software, online data rooms, status reporting software and approved artificial intelligence platforms
- Working with lawyers from the construction and environment and planning sub-teams within the Real Estate & Projects group to support those teams with the real estate aspects of their matters
- Be trusted with graduates and seasonal clerks throughout their rotations
- Develop your market profile and business Development including building om existing client relationships and developing personal business development plan
- Take ownership of and support Partners with pitches, tenders, thought leadership and client presentations
- Help shape the practise by assisting senior practitioners to prepare and present internal continuing legal education presentations

About You

- Applicants will be 6 years PAE
- Strong front-end commercial property experience, including acquisitions, disposals and leasing;




- Experience gained in a leading private practice or sophisticated in-house legal team;
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and technical legal skills;
- Sound commercial judgement and the confidence to take ownership of matters;
- A strong client service mindset and an interest in building enduring client relationships;
- The ability to lead by example and contribute positively to a high-performing team;
- Ambition, curiosity and a genuine interest in continuing to develop your career; and
- A current Victorian or New South Wales practising certificate, or eligibility to obtain one.
