The role We’re seeking a Senior Business Analyst to lead discovery and human-centred design work across a diverse portfolio of education projects, helping define problems, understand user needs and shape solutions that are both technically feasible and user-centred.
Working alongside other BA’s, a UX Designer, architects, product teams and stakeholders across the organisation, you'll bring clarity to complex challenges and influence strategic decision-making from concept through to delivery.
The role has a strong focus on discovery, solution shaping, requirements definition and proposal support.
This role would suit someone with a user-centred design skillset with a strong technical background and an understanding of how to operate in a shared services model.
Key focus will be to:
- Lead end-to-end discovery activities on complex initiatives
- Conduct user research, analysis and synthesis to uncover actionable insights
- Apply human-centred and equity-centred design principles to solution development
- Work closely with solution and enterprise architects to assess technical feasibility and shape solution options
- Develop high-quality requirements, user stories and solution documentation
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear business language
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions
- Contribute to tender submissions, proposals and business cases
- Support delivery teams through implementation by clarifying requirements and design intent
- Providing mentoring and support to other business analysts within the practice
About you You have a natural ability to move between strategic conversations, user-centred discovery and technical solution discussions.
Specifically, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in business systems analysis across a range of software development methodologies.
- Strong writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, fit-for‑purpose documentation (requirements, solution designs, user research and showcase documents).
- Experience applying design thinking to problem‑solving and solution development.
- Proven ability to contribute to productive workshops with clients and stakeholders.
- Strong capability in translating business requirements into high‑quality functional specifications.
- Broad understanding of online application development within digital environments.
- Highly developed analytical, conceptual and design thinking skills.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders.
- Experience with Miro, Atlassian Jira and Confluence (highly desirable).
