Can you turn threat intelligence into detections that actually stop attacks?

TechitUp is seeking a Senior Cyber Threat Analyst / Threat Detection Engineer for a Federal Government engagement in Canberra.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building and tuning detection capability across SIEM , SOAR and EDR platforms, not just monitoring alerts.

You’ll be involved in

• Developing and tuning detection rules across platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, QRadar or Elastic

- Building playbooks and supporting security automation

• Threat modelling using MITRE ATT&CK;, STRIDE or PASTA

- Translating threat intelligence into actionable detection content
- Supporting incident response and threat hunting activities
- Identifying detection gaps across cloud and on-prem environments

• Developing monitoring controls for emerging AI security risks, including Microsoft Copilot and Azure AI





• Working with EDR platforms such as Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, CrowdStrike or Carbon Black

- Using Sigma, Python or Bash to improve detection engineering and automation

? Must be able to obtain Baseline clearance
