What we need from you / What our client requires

- Strong experience working within IBM Mainframe / z/OS environments.

- Proven experience in database performance tuning, optimisation, monitoring and capacity planning.

- Strong knowledge of backup, recovery, disaster recovery and business continuity processes.

- Demonstrated Datacom DBA experience, with extensive hands-on experience administering CA Datacom databases within large enterprise environments.

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Datacom DBA to join our client's team and support critical enterprise systems within a major banking environment.

You will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, performance, availability and recovery of CA Datacom databases supporting key business and customer platforms. This is a hands-on role suited to a self-sufficient professional who can operate independently in a complex, highly regulated and business-critical environment.

Key Requirements

- Administer and maintain CA Datacom database environments across enterprise IBM z/OS systems.

·
- Monitor database performance, capacity, availability and health.

·
- Perform database tuning and optimisation to improve performance and reliability.

·




- Manage backup, recovery and disaster recovery activities.

·
- Support database upgrades, patches, maintenance and production changes.

·
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex Datacom and production database issues.

·
- Support mission-critical applications and ensure high levels of database availability.

·
- Ensure database security, integrity and compliance requirements are maintained.

·
- Work closely with application support, infrastructure, project and technology teams during project delivery and production support.

·
- Participate in incident management, problem management and root cause analysis.
