Century Engineering is a dynamic Australian engineering solutions provider, specialising in the design and fabrication of equipment, components and special purpose machines for the Mining, Defence, Power, and Water sectors. Due to continued growth and new project pipeline, we are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead projects at our Edinburgh North, SA site.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Lead projects across the full product development lifecycle - from quoting and scoping through design, manufacture and acceptance testing. You will work with relative autonomy, act as the key client contact, and guide project team members. The role includes mechanical design, 3D modelling and drafting, engineering calculations, finite element analysis, technical reporting, manufacturing support and factory acceptance testing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Lead assigned projects and take responsibility for delivery.

· Guide and mentoring junior engineers.

· Ensure designs comply to Australian Standards and customer requirements.

· Complete engineering calculations and simulations to verify performance, safety and compliance.

· Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams to deliver practical, manufacturable designs.

· Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.

· Resolve technical issues during development, testing and production.

· Provide high level technical support to customers, sales teams, or service technicians.

· Develop project specifications and contribute to project estimates.

ABOUT YOU:

You will bring

· An Engineers Australia-recognised bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field with at least 10 years of relevant design experience.

· Proven mechanical design experience,



including steelwork and mechanical product development.

· Knowledge of Australian Standards for steel structures and machine design.

· A practical, hands-on approach and strong analytical skills.

· Clear written and verbal communication skills.

· Confident communication with both internal and external stakeholders.

· Proficiency in 3D CAD and drafting (Inventor experience is desirable).

· Strong knowledge of drawing standards and geometric tolerancing.

· Experience leading or contributing to risk assessments and/or HAZOP workshops.

Highly regarded

· Experience leading complex projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.

· Finite element analysis experience, ideally using ANSYS.

· Mining sector experience.

· Machine hydraulic systems experience.

· Chartered Professional Engineer in mechanical and/or structural engineering.
