Your Role as Senior Mental Health Clinician – Mental Health Multidisciplinary Team In this role you’ll deliver evidence-based mental health care to adults with complex needs through a multidisciplinary, primary care-based service. The role works closely with GPs and partner practices to provide coordinated, recovery-focused support while contributing clinical leadership and mentoring within the team.
Key responsibilities include
- Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments and develop evidence-based, recovery-oriented care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Delivering brief psychological and psychosocial interventions, including individual and group-based therapeutic programs.
- Managing a caseload of adults with complex mental health needs, providing coordinated care and ongoing case management.
- Undertaking clinical and suicide risk assessments, develop safety plans and respond to escalating risks in line with organisational procedures.
- Partnering with GPs and multidisciplinary team members to deliver integrated care, shared care planning and case conferencing.
- Coordinating referrals and support safe transitions between services, ensuring continuity of care and positive outcomes.
- Providing clinical leadership through mentoring, secondary consultation and support for clinicians and new team members.
- Maintaining high-quality clinical records, contribute to quality improvement activities and ensure compliance with clinical governance standards.

What We’re Looking For
- Relevant tertiary qualification in a mental health or allied health discipline.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience supporting adults with severe and complex mental health needs.
- Experience delivering evidence-based assessment, treatment and case management.
- Demonstrated expertise in recovery-oriented, trauma-informed and culturally safe practice, including clinical and suicide risk assessment.
- Ability to effectively manage a caseload, build team-oriented partnerships and work within multidisciplinary and primary care settings.
A Valuable Addition, Yet Not a Must-Have!
- Experience supporting people transitioning from hospital or acute community mental health services.
- Knowledge of, and established linkages with, First Nations, CALD, Pasifika and LGBTQIA+ communities.
- Lived or living experience of mental health recovery.
Essential Requirements
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy)
- Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy.
- Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel for work
