Provide senior clinical leadership within occupational therapy service to clients with a variety of mental health care needs, including optimisation of care delivery, as well as supporting the mentoring and development of staff. Provide specialist skills in client assessment and recovery oriented care as part of a multi-disciplinary team approach to the provision of high quality mental health care.
Are You the Right Fit?
- Experience with mental health occupational therapy assessment, intervention and discharge planning.
- Strong communication skills and ability to discuss assessment results and recommendations, and liaise with stakeholders for safe and efficient discharges.
- Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including collaborative stakeholder consultation.
Selection Criteria To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.
- Degree in Occupational Therapy or other qualifications deemed equivalent by the employer, and current National Occupational Therapy Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and eligibility for membership to the AAOT, with experience in mental health.
- Demonstrated experience delivering evidence-based assessment and intervention for people experiencing mental illness and working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated high-level verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's licence licence (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class licence (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) licence within 3 months of appointment. Learner's licences are not permitted.
