The Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission (VGCCC) is Victoria’s independent gambling regulator. Our regulatory approach consists of licensing and approvals, education and engagement, monitoring and enforcement. We apply these functions using an intelligence led and risk-based approach ensuring we concentrate our regulatory efforts on areas of greatest risk and harm.

This position sits within the Regulatory Services Division which provides specialist regulatory, operational and technical support to the VGCCC’s Casino and Gambling Divisions, delivering assurance and advisory services, risk and intelligence monitoring, industry education, and technical evaluations and assurance activities.

Join us and play a key role in strengthening evidence-based regulation across Victoria's gambling sector.

Why Join Us?

The VGCCC is an independent regulator committed to protecting Victorians by reducing gambling harm and fostering a safe, sustainable gambling sector. Our efforts are focussed on identifying risks early, holding industry to account and strengthening community trust in gambling regulation.

We are a values-driven and inclusive organisation where people are empowered to act with courage, make it happen, work together, respect others, and act with integrity. We foster a culture where people feel connected and can contribute to our shared purpose.

We seek to build a workforce that reflects the communities we serve and strongly encourage applications from people of all ages, abilities, cultural and linguistic backgrounds, religious beliefs, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and people who are diverse in gender and sexuality.

Recognised by WORK 180 as an Employer of Choice for Women, we are proud recipients of the 2026 Equitable Employer Awards for Pay Equity and Employee Support and Safety Services.

Our Opportunity The Senior Officer Data and Analytics focuses on interpreting information, identifying risks and emerging issues, and providing actionable insights to support regulatory decision-making. The position is not a technical IT, data engineering or dashboard development role, rather, we are seeking someone who can apply critical thinking, understand regulatory and business contexts, and translate data into meaningful recommendations.

To be successful in this position you will have:

- Experience analysing and interpreting complex datasets to produce meaningful insights, reports, or visualisations that support risk-based decision-making and business outcomes. The emphasis is on deriving intelligence and actionable recommendations from data rather than the technical development of databases, dashboards or IT systems.
- Proven ability to apply analytical and critical thinking skills to identify trends, anomalies,

emerging risks and opportunities, and translate findings into practical recommendations for stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills, with experience working across teams to understand business requirements, improve data quality, and deliver data-driven solutions.

What we can offer you We are committed to building a connected, capable and empowered workforce, providing our people with opportunities to grow and thrive in their career. We offer:

- Meaningful work that contributes to reducing gambling harm.
- A genuine commitment to support work/life balance (appropriate to the nature of the role)
- Tailored initiatives that support well-being and psychological safety.
- A secure and engaging environment, including adjustments and accommodations to support people with different needs.
