Senior Piping Engineer | Brisbane, QLD

We are seeking an experienced Senior Piping Engineer to provide technical leadership across studies, FEED, detailed design, brownfield modifications, sustaining capital works, and major project developments within the mining and minerals processing sector. This role is based in Brisbane and offers the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality engineering solutions for complex projects.

About the Role

As a Senior Piping Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering piping engineering services across the project lifecycle, from concept studies through to commissioning support. You will collaborate with stakeholders across engineering disciplines, procurement teams, contractors, and clients to ensure safe, practical, and effective project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver piping engineering services across studies, FEED, detailed design, construction, and commissioning.

- Prepare and review piping specifications, calculations, material requisitions, scopes of work, and engineering deliverables.

- Perform and review hydraulic calculations, slurry and process piping designs, pipe stress analysis, and nozzle load assessments.

- Review piping layouts, isometrics, support designs, and 3D model deliverables.

- Support procurement activities, including technical bid evaluations and vendor document reviews.

- Participate in HAZOPs, constructability reviews, model reviews, and project meetings.

- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices.

What You'll Need to have:





- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

- Mandatory RPEQ registration.

- Strong experience delivering piping engineering solutions within mining, minerals, metals, or mineral processing environments.

- Proven experience across FEED, EPCM, detailed design, construction, and commissioning phases.

- Technical expertise in slurry transport, process piping, dewatering systems, pipe stress analysis, piping supports, and ASME B31.3 standards.

- Experience with engineering tools such as FluidFlow, AFT Fathom, CAESAR II, NozzlePRO, E3D, Smart3D, or Plant3D.

- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
