Atherton is a leading Australian manufacturer, installer and service provider of infection control and sterilisation equipment used throughout hospitals, healthcare facilities, laboratories and research environments. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated and mechanically minded Field Service Technician to join our Perth-based service team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified tradesperson or experienced service technician looking for a varied, hands-on role with strong technical support and ongoing training.
Working across Perth and regional Western Australia, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, troubleshooting and installing specialised equipment that plays a critical role in healthcare and infection prevention.

About the Role
Reporting to the locally based Service Manager, you will provide preventative maintenance, breakdown support, installation and commissioning services to customers across Western Australia.
Key responsibilities include
- Conducting preventative maintenance on sterilisation and infection control equipment
- Diagnosing faults and performing repairs in the field
- Installing, commissioning and validating new equipment
- Responding to emergency call outs and on-call service requests as rostered
- Maintaining accurate service records and documentation
- Managing vehicle inventory and spare parts stock
- Building positive relationships with customers and providing exceptional service
- Travelling throughout metropolitan and regional areas as required
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A trade qualification or strong technical background in mechanical, electrical, maintenance or service-related industries
- A Restricted Electrical Licence or the ability to obtain one
- At least two years' experience in troubleshooting and fault finding
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- The ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings and schematics
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- A current Australian driver's licence
- A willingness to travel to regional areas when required
- The ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check and Working with Children Check
Experience within the medical equipment, healthcare, manufacturing or industrial service sectors will be highly regarded but is not essential. We provide comprehensive training to ensure your success in the role.
