As Senior Surveyor, you will manage survey projects to ensure services meet project objectives across the planning, design, construction and management phases of the road network. You will lead the delivery of geospatial products and services, provide authoritative advice on engineering survey, photogrammetry, remote sensing and other geospatial information acquisition matters, and contribute to project specifications, plans and drawings.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the delivery of geospatial products and services to support transport infrastructure projects.
- Providing authoritative advice on engineering survey, photogrammetry, remote sensing and geospatial information acquisition issues.
- Preparing project specifications, plans and drawings, including managing and preparing open market bids and internal offers where required.
- Managing team, contractor and individual work standards to achieve time, cost and quality objectives.
- Directing and coordinating multiple teams, and guiding, training and mentoring staff.

Mandatory qualifications and conditions
- A minimum of a 3-year degree in surveying from a recognised tertiary institution or a qualification acceptable for registration as a surveyor/surveying graduate with the Surveyors Board of Queensland (SBQ).
- Evidence of degree or SBQ acceptance must be supplied in writing at the time of interview.
- A current Class C driver licence.
- Pre-employment checks, including a criminal history screening and declaration of serious discipline history, will be required.
- Must be eligible to work in Australia.
- Registration as a surveyor with the Surveyors Board of Queensland is mandatory for permanent appointment to the position.
If the preferred candidate does not have current registration, a six-month temporary appointment may be offered, subject to evidence of an active registration application and ability to complete registration before the end of the temporary appointment.

Desirable requirements
- Certification, General or Specialist, with the Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute is desirable.
