Primary objective To work collaboratively within the Leadership Team to build capacity of all staff, identify and work towards ongoing school improvements, oversee curriculum and assessment implementation to achieve high quality educational outcomes for students.

Anula Primary School is an open-plan learning environment catering for both mainstream and those in the Intensive English School

(IES). The IES supports newly arrived students with little to no English, providing a targeted pathway to develop their language skills before transitioning into mainstream classes.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Undertake an appropriate teaching load and contribute to the School Leadership team, lead staff professional learning including

program development and delivery, and to provide professional learning through instructional leadership and coaching.
1. Provide effective leadership to ensure the delivery of high quality, educational programs and the implementation of curriculum

across the school in line with Departmental and School policies to meet student needs within the school.
1. Provide leadership, professional development and support for teachers in developing and implementing best teaching

practices.
1. Lead, mentor and coach early years staff in our chosen pedagogies and the use and analysis of data for delivery of quality

learning programs.
1. As an effective member of the Leadership team, participate in the formulation and review of school policies, procedures and





improvement planning and assist in implementing the School Improvement Plan.
1. Provide a leadership role in behaviour management and wellbeing of students.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Registration with the Teacher Registration Board of the NT and current Working with Children card (OCHRE card).
2. Lead Teaching Teams in the effective development and implementation of educational pedagogies and programs such as

Walker Learning, Read, Write, Inc, OCHRE Education and High Impact Teaching Strategies, that are student centered and data informed, with a focus on intentional and explicit teaching.
1. A proven ability to participate in the development and effective implementation of policy, procedures and strategic plans,

specifically aligned to improving teaching and learning.
1. Proven ability to coach, mentor and support teachers in P-2 in effective planning, explicit instruction, teaching and assessment

practices using student data and evidence-informed approaches (including Science of Learning and Walker Learning) to improve outcomes.
1. Demonstrated capacity to develop constructive and respectful relationships with staff, students, parents and other

stakeholders including an ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.
1. Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a busy energetic school

environment.

Desirable

1. Accreditation in Walker Learning.
2. Read, Write, Inc trained.
3. Knowledge, skills and experience with digital technologies.
