We are seeking a senior level Engineer to support the delivery of high-quality civil design outcomes across a portfolio of infrastructure projects, with a primary focus on transportation infrastructure delivery in the rail space. This role is suited to a capable and motivated engineer who enjoys working in multidisciplinary project environments and contributing to technically complex projects.
The engineer will be responsible for tendering projects, providing engineering oversight, reviewing work and managing projects. The role will support the rail team from early concept development through to detailed design and execution. While the core focus will be in the rail space scope exists for other transport infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare structural / civil / track design for infrastructure projects.
- Oversee the development of project models in accordance with project and company BIM standards.
- Coordinate structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and architectural inputs.
- Provide designers with sketches, and markups to assist with design documentation development.
- Undertake project reporting and undertake in drawing checks and design reviews.
- Identify opportunities, lead proposal development and bid submission and manage engagement.
- Expand rail business within the New South Wales region.
- Liaise with clients to ensure deliverables achieve the requirements and timing expectations are met.
- Ensure documentation complies with relevant standards, codes, client specifications, and quality procedures.
Essential Skills And Experience
- Demonstrated experience as a design engineer on infrastructure projects.
- An interest in rail systems.
- Working relationships with transport infrastructure maintainers.
- Demonstrated experience with track design packages such as open rail and 12D.
- A strong understanding of standards, codes of practice and design guidelines.
- An ability to interpret civil modelling to ensure successful structural / civil interface.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary design teams.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality outputs.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
- Ability to work independently.
About You
You will hold civil / structural engineering degree and have 15 + years of experience delivering infrastructure engineering. You have demonstrated experience with transport infrastructure design and delivery and operate in client-facing roles. You are confident working across disciplines, understand industry standards and regulatory requirements. Strong communication skills, safety awareness, and the ability to communicate effectively in English are essential.
