- Psychologist: $83,670 - $122,465 per annum

Join the Integrated Violence Prevention & Response Service (IVPRS) at Westmead Hospital, a specialist service providing leadership, clinical care and capacity building across sexual assault, domestic violence and child protection. Working alongside experienced clinicians and multidisciplinary partners, you'll play a vital role in supporting victim-survivors through compassionate, evidence-based interventions while contributing to a culture of collaboration, learning and excellence.

What You'll Be Doing As the Sexual Assault Referral Management & Early Support Counsellor, you will be responsible for coordinating referrals and delivering early intervention support to adolescents, adults and non-offending family members affected by sexual assault. This rewarding role combines clinical practice, advocacy and collaborative case management within a specialist violence, abuse and neglect service.





- Manage and coordinate sexual assault referrals from first contact through to allocation, ensuring timely and responsive service delivery.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide short-term counselling, advocacy and case management for clients experiencing the impacts of sexual assault and related trauma.
- Participate in a 24-hour on-call roster supporting people who have recently experienced sexual assault.
- Collaborate with sexual assault, domestic violence and child protection professionals to deliver integrated, holistic and trauma-informed care.
- Build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders while maintaining high-quality documentation, data collection and reporting.

Essential Criteria

- Qualification: Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling
- Registration: Eligibility for appropriate professional registration or association membership.

Selection Criteria

- Tertiary qualification (minimum bachelor’s degree) in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or Graduate Certificate in Human & Community Services (Interpersonal Trauma) and eligibility for appropriate professional registration or association membership.
- Demonstrated experience in complex trauma and trauma informed practice, preferably within a Violence, Abuse & Neglect (e.g. sexual assault, child protection or domestic violence) or related setting.
- Demonstrated assessment and case management skills with children, young people and adults.




- Demonstrated understanding of the inter-related dynamics and effects of sexual assault, physical abuse and neglect and domestic violence and a commitment to integrated models for working with clients who have experienced trauma and abuse.
- Demonstrated understanding of intergenerational trauma and the principles of cultural safety, with experience in (or commitment to) providing culturally responsive services to individuals and families.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated capacity to work with in collaboration and partnership with a wide range of key internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge and understanding of the legal systems, legislation and policies & procedures relating to violence, abuse and neglect.
- Current NSW Driver’s License
