We are an empty container depot located in Banksmeadow, Sydney, providing container storage, handling, inspection and related logistics services. We are currently looking for an experienced and qualified Container Surveyor / Inspector to join our team.
About the Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Inspect empty dry and reefer containers in accordance with IICL and shipping line standards
- Identify container damage and determine repair requirements
- Prepare accurate repair estimates using handheld devices
- Complete inspection records and process information through 1-Stop or similar depot systems
- Determine container condition and grading requirements
- Liaise with M&R;, container control and operations teams
- Take damage photos and maintain accurate inspection records
- Ensure all work complies with WHS requirements and company procedures
About You
To be successful in this role,
you will have:
- Current IICL Container Inspector Certification
- Previous experience as a Container Surveyor / Inspector
- Experience inspecting both dry and reefer containers
- Solid knowledge of container damage assessment and repair standards
- Experience preparing repair estimates
- Ability to carry out inspections independently
- Strong attention to detail and good communication skills
- Experience in an empty container depot or similar environment
Experience using 1-Stop, Containerchain or similar systems will be highly regarded. We are looking for an experienced, reliable and responsible person who can confidently carry out container inspections independently.
