Senior Contract Administrator

A well-established commercial builder is seeking an experienced Senior Contract Administrator to join its Sydney team due to a strong pipeline of newly awarded projects. With a reputation for delivering commerical and mixed-use developments, the business offers long-term career opportunities and a collaborative project environment.
Your new roleAs a Senior Contract Administrator, you will play a key role in the commercial delivery of a major construction project from pre-construction through to completion. Working closely with the Project Manager and commercial team, you will be responsible for procurement, contract management, cost control, and financial reporting while supporting the successful delivery of the project.
Key responsibilities include:

- Leading end-to-end subcontractor procurement and package letting
- Managing contract administration across the project lifecycle
- Preparing cost forecasts, budget tracking, and monthly commercial reporting
- Assessing and negotiating variations, claims, and extensions of time
- Managing subcontractor performance and commercial outcomes
- Identifying and mitigating commercial and contractual risks
- Supporting project cash flow management and cost planning
- Mentoring junior Contract Administrators and helping drive best practice processes




- Maintaining project documentation using construction management systems and document control platforms

What you'll need to succeed

- Experience working for a head contractor on large-scale commercial projects.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Building, or a related discipline
- Robust understanding of construction contracts, procurement strategies, and commercial risk management.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency with construction software such as Jobpac, Procore, Aconex, or similar systems
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a high-performing project team
