Wakefield Rheumatology comprises a group of Rheumatologists and a Physiotherapist who assist in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of rheumatological conditions. Located in the newly developed 300 Wakefield Street, the vibrant culture and amazing food and coffee of Hutt Street is only a short walk away!
About the position
We are looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated person to join our friendly team.
As a receptionist, you will have an important role as an intermediary between patients and clinicians.
Wakefield Rheumatology is a busy specialist medical practice, open 5 days a week, Monday to Friday. No weekends or late nights!
· Casual
· 30 hours per week, Tuesday to Friday
· Potential for additional hours
· On the job training provided
*Earliest start time can be 8.30am and latest end time 5.00pm
Enthusiasm, good people skills, a warm personality and a willing to learn attitude is more important than experience.
Duties
- Welcoming our patients to the practice
- Making appointments and processing patient billing
- Managing patient phone and email enquiries
- Opening and closing the clinic
- Typing dictated letters
- General housekeeping of practice
- General clerical/administration duties as required

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including a professional & personable telephone manner
- Neat and professional presentation
- Ability to develop and maintain a robust rapport with practitioners and patients
Desirable but not essential
- Previous experience as a medical receptionist or similar administrative role
- Proficient computer skills with prior experience using medical billing/appointment software
