Working across some of Australia's most iconic venues and facilities, Quayclean has experienced significant growth in recent years. We are committed to maintaining a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace where every team member feels supported, valued and accepted.
About the Role
We have multiple opportunities available for Rostering Coordinators to join our team supporting the Australian Open at Melbourne Park; one of the biggest and most demanding events on Quayclean's calendar.
Our Australian Open workforce is large and diverse, bringing together employees from a wide range of backgrounds, experience levels and working arrangements, including interstate and international team members who join us for the tournament.
As a Rostering Coordinator, you'll play a central role in ensuring we have the right people in the right place at the right time.
This is an active, people-facing and operationally critical role. You'll work closely with Operations Managers, the Workforce Manager and corporate teams to coordinate rosters across Melbourne Park, respond to fast-changing event conditions and make practical decisions that balance operational requirements, people and compliance.
The Roster
These are full-time, fixed-term positions supporting the Australian Open and associated workforce requirements.
The current roster is Sunday to Thursday, with adjustments expected as the tournament approaches and event demands increase. Flexibility will be important, particularly during peak periods of the event.
You'll be working as part of a broader team, with support in place to maintain continuity across the Australian Open workforce throughout the event cycle.
What You'll Be Doing
- Coordinate and maintain rosters across a large and diverse Australian Open workforce.
- Respond to real-time changes, including leave, unplanned absences and urgent service requirements.
- Work with employees to understand availability, preferences and capacity.
- Partner with Operations Managers to resolve coverage gaps and anticipate workforce requirements.
- Coordinate shift swaps, redeployments and roster adjustments in line with operational and compliance requirements.
- Apply relevant Modern Award requirements when making rostering decisions.
- Escalate decisions for approval where they fall outside your delegation.
- Communicate clearly, respectfully and calmly in the time-pressured environment of a major live event.
- Use rostering systems and dashboards to monitor coverage, hours and workforce utilisation.
- Support accurate workforce information and contribute to payroll and billing processes where required.
- Contribute to a culture of shared responsibility, transparency and respectful, people-focused practices.
This is a role where thinking, communicating and coordinating all happen at once and where your judgement matters.
About You
You'll bring strengths across both people and systems. You're organised, adaptable and steady under pressure, and you're comfortable working with a broad mix of people in a fast-paced operational environment.
You'll ideally bring:
- Previous experience in rostering, scheduling or workforce coordination, ideally within an events, cleaning, hospitality, facilities or other high-volume environment.
- Confidence applying Up-to-date Award and rostering requirements,
with experience under the Cleaning Services Award highly regarded.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach and confidence making decisions in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Confidence using rostering systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using Microkeeper is highly desirable.
- Payroll or billing experience is desirable but not essential.
- Flexibility to work across changing roster requirements as the Australian Open approaches.
What We Offer
- Competitve remuneration reflecting your experience, plus applicable weekend penalty rates.
- The opportunity to play a key role in delivering the Australian Open, one of Australia's biggest annual sporting events.
- Multiple positions available, giving you the opportunity to join a collaborative rostering and workforce team.
- A values-led organisation focused on its people.
- A role where the impact of your work is visible every day.
- Supportive leaders who understand the complexity and importance of workforce coordination.
- Opportunities to build your experience within a growing national organisation.
