Home Assessing Team Leader | Lead, Coach & Make an Impact

Join a leading Australian insurer as a Home Assessing Team Leader, where you'll lead, coach and develop a team of Home Assessors while helping drive quality, consistency and customer outcomes across the claims function.

Who will you be working with?
You'll be joining an established Home Claims function with a strong focus on customer outcomes, technical quality and continuous improvement. You'll work alongside experienced claims professionals and industry stakeholders in a team-oriented environment where ideas are encouraged and development is supported.

What will you be doing?
- Lead, coach and mentor a team of Home Assessors to deliver high-quality claims outcomes
- Provide technical guidance and support across scoping, cost validation, compliance and assessment practices
- Monitor team performance against key quality, productivity and customer service KPIs
- Manage escalated claims, complaints and complex customer or stakeholder matters
- Drive continuous improvement across Home Claims processes, systems and ways of working
- Identify opportunities to improve cost control, efficiency and overall claims performance
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including builders, restorers and industry partners
- Support capability development, performance management, recruitment and workforce planning
What do you need?
- Proven experience leading, coaching and mentoring a professional team
- Previous Home Assessing, estimating or residential building experience — essential
- Minimum 2 years' experience in Home Assessing or the Building Industry
- Demonstrated ability to manage performance, provide constructive feedback and develop team capability
- Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Insurance or claims experience is preferred, but not essential
