The Prospect
We are seeking a hands-on, proactive Safety & Quality Partner to join our team on-site at Richmond, NSW.
As the primary operational lead and site subject matter expert, you will act as the direct, trusted link between site leadership, engineering teams, operational managers, and external customer quality/safety representatives. You will oversee the execution and conformance of our Integrated Safety Management System (iSMS) and Quality Management System (QMS), balancing day-to-day assurance with continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the go-to contact for site leadership, Responsible Managers, and Design Engineers on all safety and quality outcomes.
- Lead the practical application of our iSMS and QMS across local operational structures.
- Conduct safety and quality audits, ensuring compliance with Airbus standards, national regulations, and contractual requirements.
- Triage event reports, lead hazard/incident investigations, undertake risk assessments, and establish effective corrective controls.
- Act as the direct focal point for external customer Quality Assurance and Safety Investigation requirements.
- Drive complex safety projects, promote Human Factors awareness, and foster a proactive safety culture on-site.
About You
To succeed in this role, you bring a "fit-for-purpose" mindset—achieving an effective balance between strict regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
- Tertiary qualification in Aviation (e.g., Aviation Management) or a Diploma/Degree in a Safety, Health, or Quality discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Strong understanding of WHS legislation, Airworthiness Regulations, and Human Factors principles.
- Proven ability to lead incident investigations, conduct risk assessments, and triage event data in a matrix organization.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with a proven track record of influencing stakeholders and delivering clear guidance.
- Up to 30% travel availability to support wider Australian operations as required.
- ISO 9001, 14001, or 45001 lead auditor/investigation certifications, and proficiency in SAP, Microsoft, or Google suites.
Requirements
- Must be an Australian citizen eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Defence Security Clearance.
- Capacity to complete pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing.
