About the role

The Podiatrist practices as part of a transdisciplinary team and undertakes assessments of clients to determine individual treatments and applies professional expertise to maximise outcomes for clients. The Podiatrist provides clinics in community and residential aged care settings in rural and remote communities on a regular basis. The Podiatrist undertakes health education activities and contributes expertise to the development, monitoring and review of primary health programs and activities.

Key responsibilities

- Provision of podiatry services to inpatients and outpatients of all ages in Robinvale and at outreach sites, including providing advice on foot health, assessment and diagnosis of foot pathology, identification of treatment, care and rehabilitation requirements, referral to other disciplines as appropriate, and formulation of care plans
- Provision of direct care as deemed appropriate and agreed by the client
- Provision of education to staff and clients about all aspects of foot care
- Working with colleagues in a multi-disciplinary team to achieve best possible client outcomes
- Work collaboratively with service providers, key organisations, community groups and consumers to develop and improve primary health care services
- To implement flexible, creative and holistic services to meet community needs
- Participate in career development including attendance at seminars and other learning and development opportunities
- Keep up to date with developments,



legislation and regulations relevant to the requirements of the position
- Conduct other duties as directed

About you

- Bachelor of Podiatry (or equivalent)
- Current Registration: Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- Registration with the Australian Podiatry Council
- At least 2 years podiatric practice experience and experience in clinical supervision
- Current Driver's Licence
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to RDHS vision, mission and values

- Initiative, flexibility and ability to work independently as well as in a team
- High levels of self-motivation and initiative

About us

Robinvale District Health Services (RDHS) is a Multi-Purpose Service (MPS) located in North-West Victoria on the Murray River that provides a diverse range of services across a catchment area of approximately 60,000 square kilometres. In addition to service delivery in our immediate area, RDHS provides outreach services to the communities of Ouyen, Manangatang, Boundary Bend, Balranald, Wentworth and Dareton. RDHS operates 20 acute beds, 54 residential aged care places and provide urgent care services to both the Robinvale and Manangatang communities. A comprehensive range of additional services include renal dialysis, midwifery, Visiting nursing, Allied health and early years.
