Our client is a well-established, boutique residential builder known for delivering high-end custom homes across Sydney's Lower North Shore, Northern Beaches and Eastern Suburbs. With a robust reputation for quality craftsmanship and a growing pipeline of premium residential projects (up to $15m), they are seeking an experienced Leading Hand Carpenter to join their on-site delivery team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in high-end finishes and wants to grow within a business that values quality over volume.
Working closely with the Site Manager and Foreman, you will lead a small team of carpenters and subcontractors on-site, while remaining hands-on with the tools. You'll play a key role in maintaining build quality, sequencing, and site standards on prestige residential projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate a small team of carpenters and labourers on-site
- Carry out and oversee first and second fix carpentry to a high-end residential standard
- Read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications
- Ensure work is completed to program, to spec,
and to the quality expected on luxury builds
- Liaise with the Site Manager/Foreman on sequencing, deliveries, and subcontractor coordination
- Maintain a safe, organised, and compliant work site (WHS)
- Mentor and support junior carpenters and apprentices on-site
About You
- Trade-qualified carpenter (Cert III) with proven leading hand or supervisory experience
- Background in high-end residential or custom home construction highly regarded
- Strong understanding of quality finishes, detailing, and craftsmanship expected on premium builds
- Ability to read technical drawings and work autonomously
- Current White Card and own tools/transport
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach with site management
