Perth Racing (the trading name of the Western Australian Turf Club) is the premier thoroughbred racing club in WA, operating both Ascot and Belmont Park racecourses. As a multi-faceted racing, entertainment and event business, we stage more than 90 race meetings per year, including Melbourne Cup Day at Ascot, Perth Cup, the Pinnacles series and The Quokka.

The role

Perth Racing is seeking a Functions Coordinator who will be responsible for the sales and delivery of non-race-day events. This position will play a vital role in creating memorable experiences for our guests, customers and stakeholders.

Reporting to the Events and Sponsorship Manager, the Functions Coordinator will also work closely with the wider Events and Operations team.

This opportunity would ideally suit someone with demonstrated experience in organising events, workshops and functions, along with a high level of organisational skills.

This is a full-time, Monday to Friday, position which will include work on selected weekends where events are held, for which time off in lieu will be offered.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who will be responsible for the following:

• Respond promptly to event enquiries and convert leads into confirmed bookings

• Conduct site visits and client meetings to showcase Perth Racing's venues and services

• Prepare event proposals, quotations and contracts with Events and Sponsorship Manager

• Plan, co-ordinate and manage the execution of non-race day events and bookings





• Proactively seek new business opportunities to grow non-race day event revenue

• Represent Perth Racing at networking events, trade shows and industry functions where required

• Maintain accurate records within the CRM and event management systems

• Conduct post-event evaluations and obtain client feedback

• Invoicing and EOM procedures as directed by Senior Events Executive/ Events and Sponsorship Manager

• Assist with Raceday tasks and general office management duties as required

About you

You’re an experienced Functions/ Events Coordinator with a degree or diploma in Events, Business or a related field. You have demonstrated proficiency in event management. You have experience working in a fast-paced sporting, hotel or hospitality setting and can collaborate across functional departments.
