About the program

The Wesley LifeForce Suicide Prevention Networks program is a national initiative that supports communities to reduce suicide through collaborative, localised and community-led approaches. Since 2007, Wesley Mission has partnered with communities across Australia to establish and sustain Suicide Prevention Networks that build awareness, strengthen referral pathways and support grassroots prevention activity.

About the role

The LifeForce Suicide Prevention Networks Clinical Lead will support delivery of Wesley LifeForce’s Clinical Framework uplift project across the national LifeForce Suicide Prevention Community Network footprint. This role will strengthen the practical application of the LifeForce Program Methodology and Program Logic by supporting clinical governance, secure practice, safeguarding, risk identification, referral confidence, escalation pathways,



culturally responsive practice and evidence-informed community-led suicide prevention activity.

Working closely with LifeForce program leaders, network coordinators, clinical governance stakeholders, university partners and sector partners, you will help develop practical guidance, tools, templates, capability-building resources and evaluation processes that support coordinators, volunteers and communities operating in regional, remote and heightened-risk contexts.

You may have previous experience in suicide prevention, mental health, clinical governance, community services, health program implementation, safeguarding, quality improvement, policy guidance, community capacity building or place-based health initiatives.

Essential criteria

- Passion for safe, community-led suicide prevention

- Understanding of suicide prevention, mental health, safeguarding and risk escalation pathways

- Experience in clinical governance, practice frameworks, quality improvement or program implementation

- Ability to turn clinical frameworks into practical tools, resources and training materials

- Strong stakeholder engagement, consultation and co-design skills

- Ability to work with diverse priority communities, including regional, remote and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities

- Experience in project reporting, evaluation and outcomes measurement

- Ability to meet governance, quality, risk and compliance requirements in community settings

- High-level Microsoft Office skills





- Current Australian driver’s licence

Desirable criteria

- Experience in suicide prevention, postvention, community capacity building or place-based health

- Experience developing referral pathways, escalation tools, safeguarding guidance or practice resources

- Experience with university, sector or evaluation partners

- Understanding of Activity Workplan reporting, grant delivery or acquittal requirements

- Relevant qualifications in mental health, social work, psychology, counselling, public health or suicidology
