About the opportunity:

Due to an internal promotion, RSPCA South Australia is seeking a proactive, organised and people-focused People, Capability & Safety Administrator to provide broad administrative support across payroll, HR systems, onboarding, compliance, and safety activities. This is a varied and rewarding role for someone who enjoys being across the detail, supporting people leaders and employees, and contributing to a positive workplace culture aligned with RSPCA SA’s values.

We genuinely believe that work life balance is important and as such are able to offer this role as a full-time role working Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00am to 6:00pm or a compressed fortnight working 9 days per fortnight or part time at 0.9 or 0.8 full time equivalent.

Our successful candidate will:

- Administer end-to-end payroll processing, including superannuation processing, employee maintenance, salary adjustments and payroll reporting.

- Resolve system and employee queries efficiently and effectively.

- Review payroll systems and processes regularly to identify improvements, support optimisation and maintain accurate, productive payroll operations.

- Coordinate onboarding administration, including enrolling new starters in required training and tracking completion of induction activities.

- Maintain accurate employee records, training information, licences, certifications and HR database records.

- Respond to and escalate enquiries from HR, payroll, and safety inboxes with professionalism and care.





- Provide administrative support for workplace health and safety activities, audits, compliance reporting, uniform ordering, and operational processes.

- Work collaboratively with people leaders and employees to provide accurate, consistent and practical support.

About you:

You will bring strong administration skills, sound judgement and a genuine interest in supporting people and animal welfare. Previous experience in payroll coordination, HR administration, or a similar business support role will be highly regarded, along with confidence using Microsoft Office and HR or payroll systems. Experience with UKG Ready and Metrics Payroll will be highly regarded. You will be organised, accurate and able to manage competing priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Most importantly, you will be a warm and reliable team member who communicates clearly, takes initiative and enjoys contributing to a supportive, purpose-driven workplace.

The successful candidate will be required to provide a current National Police Clearance within the last 3 months, have a current class c drivers licence and be able to successfully complete background checks. These checks may include reference checks, Australian work rights and any additional checks dependant on the role.
