- Classification: Level 7, base salary commencing from $92,625 per annum

Northern Queensland Primary Health Network (NQPHN) is seeking a Senior Primary Care Engagement Officer to work alongside general practices, Aboriginal Medical Services and Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations across north Queensland, supporting them to improve quality of care through data, digital health and well designed primary care programs.

This role sits within our Health System Integration and Innovation directorate and plays a key part in turning strategy into action at practice level.

The role - what you’ll do

You will work directly with primary care services and health partners across north Queensland to:

- Support quality improvement and population health initiatives.
- Help practices use clinical data and digital tools to identify opportunities for improved patient outcomes.
- Coordinate and deliver NQPHN-funded programs and projects.
- Develop and distribute practical tools and resources for primary care.
- Build strong, trusted relationships across the primary care sector, representing NQPHN at meetings, committees and sector events.
- Identify gaps, challenges and opportunities and contribute to practical solutions.
- Monitor budgets and reporting requirements, ensuring programs are delivered responsbily.

This is a role for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy and impact - combining engagement, project delivery and system improvement.

Key selection criteria





- Relevant tertiary qualification and/or a minimum of two years' experience in primary health care, change management or quality improvement.
- Demonstrated understanding of opportunities and challenges for the primary health sector in the north Queensland region.
- Understanding of key primary care clinical information systems and digital health platforms used in Australia.
- Experience with data interpretation to facilitate continuous quality improvement including supporting the adoption of current tools, systems and processes.
- Significant knowledge to conduct cohesive networking and stakeholder engagement with a wide range of stakeholders across the NQPHN region.
- Demonstrated experience in working as part of a multidisciplinary and multifaceted team within a community engagement context.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and meet deadlines in a high demand work environment.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, communication (oral and written), engagement, and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse communities including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders, and Australian South Sea Islanders in our region.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and the ability to become proficient in other software programs as required.
