Are you a Senior Data Engineer with strong Databricks and Apache Spark experience?

We’re looking for an experienced data engineering professional to join the team on a 12-month contract, with an ASAP start. This is a hands-on opportunity to work across modern data platforms, large-scale data pipelines and cloud data engineering, while also mentoring and supporting other engineers.

About the role

You’ll be responsible for designing, building and optimising scalable data solutions across enterprise data platforms.

You’ll work closely with technical stakeholders and data engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-quality data products while helping establish strong engineering practices.

Key responsibilities

- Design, build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and enterprise data platforms using Databricks and Apache Spark.

- Develop data migration, replication and transformation solutions.

- Build robust data ingestion pipelines across SQL, PostgreSQL, APIs and Kafka/streaming platforms.

- Work with complex data structures, including JSON, and optimise data for analytics and downstream consumption.

- Implement data orchestration, CI/CD, infrastructure automation and platform governance.

- Contribute to data engineering standards, design patterns, code quality and development practices.





- Mentor and coach data engineers, helping build technical capability across the team.

- Communicate technical concepts and decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

About you

You’ll bring extensive experience as a Senior Data Engineer, with a solid track record delivering modern data engineering solutions.

You’ll ideally have:

- Strong hands-on experience with Databricks and Apache Spark.

- Advanced SQL and Python skills.

- Experience with Apache Airflow, dbt or similar orchestration/transformation technologies.

- Strong experience across data migration, API integration and Kafka/streaming data pipelines.

- Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure automation and data catalogue/governance tools.

- Experience working with cloud-based data platforms and enterprise data environments.

- A proven ability to mentor, coach and upskill other data engineers.

- Strong consulting, stakeholder management and communication skills.

- The ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and influence technical decisions.
