The role:
Adbri Masonry is looking for an experienced Plant Manager to lead our Pooraka manufacturing site and take ownership of its operational performance. This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility across production, maintenance, site logistics, safety, quality, people and cost. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the Pooraka manufacturing site across production, maintenance, logistics and value-adding facilities.
- Set production priorities and ensure the site delivers safely, efficiently and to plan.
- Lead production planning, forecasting, resourcing and inventory requirements.
- Drive plant reliability and equipment performance, reducing downtime and improving cycle times.
- Oversee site logistics, including forklift operations, yard movements and truck loading.
- Ensure products consistently meet quality specifications and customer requirements.
- Manage site costs, production variances and operational performance against budget and targets.
- Lead a strong safety culture, including hazard reporting, risk management, LOTO, PPE, housekeeping and contractor compliance.
- Lead and develop multiple teams, setting clear expectations, accountability and standards.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve productivity, sustainability, quality, safety and cost.
- Work with the national Performance Improvement team on process optimisation, standardisation and quality initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for equipment and process improvements and develop recommendations for future investment.
About you:
You’re an experienced manufacturing or operations leader with a track record of leading teams, managing complex site operations and delivering strong operational outcomes. You know how to set clear expectations, hold people accountable and use your team effectively, while keeping sight of the bigger picture.
You’ll bring:
- Previous Plant Manager, Site Manager, Operations Manager or similar senior leadership experience in a manufacturing, processing,
heavy industry or comparable environment.
- Experience leading multiple teams and managing the competing priorities of people, production, maintenance and site operations.
- A robust track record in safety leadership, operational discipline and compliance.
- Experience improving plant reliability, productivity, quality and cost performance.
- Demonstrated change management and continuous improvement capability, with the ability to turn opportunities into practical improvements.
- Strong commercial and analytical skills, including the ability to understand operational costs, performance data and production metrics.
- The leadership capability to build accountability, engage your people and bring teams with you through change.
- An engineering or technical background would be advantageous, particularly experience working with industrial plant and machinery.
- SAP experience is desirable.
Experience in masonry is not essential.
