ASKIN Performance Panels is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Operations Manager to take overall responsibility for the performance and day-to-day operation of our manufacturing site in Dandenong South.

This is a hands-on operational leadership role for someone who enjoys being close to the action, leading people, solving problems and driving improvements across production, safety, quality, delivery and costs.

Reporting to the Australian Operations Manager, you will lead the site’s manufacturing and operational teams and work closely with Production, Logistics, Purchasing, Maintenance, Sales, HR and other areas of the business to ensure we deliver for our customers.

About the Role

As Manufacturing Operations Manager, you will have overall accountability for the effective and efficient operation of the manufacturing site.

You will lead the operational team, manage production performance and resources, and ensure the site consistently delivers against safety, quality, productivity, cost and customer requirements.

Key areas of responsibility include:

- Lead and coordinate the day-to-day manufacturing operation and operational teams.

- Drive production output, productivity, efficiency and DIFOT – Dispatched in Full, On Time performance.

- Plan production, labour, materials and resources to meet customer requirements.

- Manage operational costs including labour, raw materials, freight, inventory and waste.

- Monitor production performance, inventory, waste and operational KPIs and take action where required.

- Drive continuous improvement across processes,



equipment utilisation and resource efficiency.

- Maintain strong oversight of logistics and freight planning.

- Lead a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with safety, environmental and quality requirements.

- Ensure appropriate management of incidents, audits, corrective actions and compliance requirements.

- Maintain effective SOPs, operational processes and reporting.

- Lead and develop employees, including performance management, workforce planning, training and capability development.

- Work closely with HR on employee and workforce matters.

- Maintain strong relationships across internal teams, suppliers, customers and service providers.

- Take ownership of operational issues and ensure they are resolved promptly.

- Support national purchasing, cost-saving and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Ensure the site supports the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and FM compliance.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for an operational leader who combines strong people leadership with manufacturing, production and commercial capability.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing environment is required, ideally within steel rolling, steel processing, automotive manufacturing, panel manufacturing, metal manufacturing or a similar production environment.

- Demonstrated leadership experience in an operations or manufacturing environment.

- A hands-on leadership style and a willingness to be visible and involved across the site.

- Strong planning, coordination and organisational skills.

- Experience managing production, labour, materials,



inventory and operational costs.

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability.

- Solid understanding of ERP systems, including Pronto WIP and Purchasing.

- Intermediate to advanced Excel and strong computer skills.

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

- A customer-focused approach and commitment to meeting delivery requirements.

- The ability to manage competing priorities and make timely decisions.

- A proactive, practical and solutions-focused approach.

- A robust work ethic, personal accountability and commitment to achieving results.

Location & Hours

This is a full time, site-based position at our Dandenong South manufacturing facility.

The role requires flexibility to work the hours reasonably necessary to meet operational requirements, including supporting production, employees and business priorities outside the standard hours where required. This is not a fixed early-start/early-finish position.
