Gateway Group is looking for a reliable, organised and hands-on Dispatch Operator to join our growing team at our High Wycombe facility. This is an important role within our workshop, making sure completed hydraulic cylinders and heavy components leave Gateway safely, correctly, on time and ready for our customers. You'll work closely with our workshop supervisors, administration team, customers and transport providers to coordinate incoming and outgoing equipment and keep our dispatch area running efficiently.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate dispatch and collection of hydraulic cylinders and heavy components.
- Check completed jobs against job numbers, purchase orders and dispatch documentation.
- Ensure cylinders and components are correctly tagged and identified.
- Prepare completed equipment for transport, including port plugs, protective covers and loose components.
- Inspect finished jobs for cleanliness, presentation and transport readiness.
- Coordinate freight companies, couriers and customer collections.
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts and overhead cranes where required.
- Complete delivery dockets, freight paperwork and dispatch records.
- Photograph completed jobs prior to dispatch where required.
- Ensure hoses, valves, sensors, accessories and loose components stay with the correct job.
About you
- Current forklift licence.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Valuable organisational and communication skills.
- Basic computer and paperwork skills.
- Confidence working safely around large and heavy components.
- Ability to manage multiple jobs and changing priorities.

- Reliable and punctual work habits.
- A positive team attitude.
- Previous experience within dispatch, warehousing, transport coordination or heavy engineering would be preferred.
