School Nurse

Melbourne Grammar School is seeking a School Nurse to provide high-quality healthcare and support to the students of Melbourne Grammar School. This role is suited to a Registered Nurse (Division 1) and includes a residential component, with private accommodation provided at our South Yarra campus.

The position reports directly to the Health Centre Manager and works collaboratively with the Director of Boarding, Heads of House, and other members of the boarding and wider school community.

The School Nurse engages closely with students, boarding staff, and parents, and liaises regularly with relevant stakeholders to support student health and wellbeing. The South Yarra campus has two Health Centre’s—one within the boarding house and one on campus—providing 24/7 nursing care during term time via a rostered team (including on-site and on-call coverage). An additional Health Centre operates at the Grimwade campus.

You will:

- Deliver high-quality nursing care, first aid, and health advice to students and staff and responding effectively to illnesses, injuries, emergencies, and day-to-day health needs.

- Support student health and wellbeing through the management of medical conditions, administration of medications and collaboration with parents, MGS staff, and external healthcare professionals.

- Participation in boarding house activities, and proactive support of student wellbeing and welfare.

- Maintain accurate and confidential health records, medication registers, and student health information in accordance with legal and professional requirements.

- Assist in the effective operation of the Health Centre, including managing first aid supplies and equipment, supporting immunisation programs, delivering staff training, and ensuring facilities are safe, compliant, and well maintained.

- Contribute to the wider school community by supporting camps, sporting and outdoor education programs,



health education initiatives, and providing nursing services across Melbourne Grammar School campuses as required.
