About Us
Bentleys Queensland is a full-service advisory and accounting firm with 14 Partners and around 200 people across three offices. For over 75 years, we’ve built strong relationships through practical, forward-thinking advice - and we take the same approach with our people.
Our culture is shaped by being Insightful, Authentic, Dynamic and Connected - not just in how we work with clients, but how we support each other day-to-day.
At Bentleys Queensland, you’ll work closely with privately owned businesses and individuals who value clear, practical advice and consistent support. You’ll be trusted to manage your own work and relationships, while still having access to guidance from experienced Managers and Partners.
About the Role
At Bentleys Queensland, we're looking for a commercially minded Financial Analyst to join our Finance team and help drive informed business decisions through insightful analysis, planning and reporting. Working closely with the Finance Manager and stakeholders across the business, you'll play a key role in translating financial data into meaningful commercial outcomes.
This is a broad and hands-on role that combines financial analysis, business partnering and reporting, while also providing exposure to compliance, treasury and wider finance operations. You'll have the opportunity to build strong relationships across the firm and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the way we work.
Key responsibilities include:
• Coordinating annual budgets and periodic forecasting processes across the business.
• Developing financial models and analysing business performance against budget, forecast and prior periods.
• Preparing management reports, dashboards and commentary that support strategic decision making.
• Partnering with department leaders to understand operational drivers, opportunities and risks.
• Supporting month-end reporting, reconciliations and financial close activities.
• Assisting with statutory compliance obligations, payroll support and treasury related activities.
• Contributing to finance projects, systems enhancements and process improvements.
About You
You're an analytical and commercially aware finance professional who enjoys getting beyond the numbers to understand what is driving business performance. You can confidently work with a range of stakeholders and communicate financial information in a way that is explicit, practical and actionable.
You thrive in a cooperative environment, take ownership of your work and are always looking for ways to improve processes, reporting and outcomes. Whether you're presenting insights to leaders or supporting day-to-day finance activities, you're known for your attention to detail and proactive approach.
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
• A degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
• CA or CPA qualifications, or be on your way to completing these qualifications
• Experience in financial analysis, management accounting, budgeting, forecasting or a similar finance role.
• Strong financial modelling, variance analysis and management reporting skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel capability and confidence working with financial systems.
• The ability to build strong working relationships and influence stakeholders across the business.
• A collaborative mindset, strong communication skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
