About the role

Europa at the Bay is seeking a talented and passionate Barista to join our team on a Full-time or Part Time or Casual basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work in the vibrant hospitality and tourism sector, serving our diverse clientele in our beachside location at Glenelg, South Australia. As a Barista, you will be the face of our café, delivering exceptional customer service whilst crafting high-quality beverages and creating a welcoming atmosphere that keeps guests returning to our establishment.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and serve espresso-based drinks, speciality coffees, and other beverages with precision and consistency to our exacting standards

- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment safely and effectively, ensuring optimal performance

- Take customer orders efficiently and accurately, responding to requests and recommendations with enthusiasm and product knowledge

- Early start at 6:30am for every shift

- Will be required to take out the outdoor dining tables & chairs each morning

- Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment, adhering to all food and beverage safety protocols and standards

- Stock and manage supplies, including coffee beans, milk, cups, and other materials, and report when supplies require replenishment

- Interact professionally with customers, building rapport and ensuring a positive experience from arrival to departure

- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth service during peak periods

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a Barista or in a café or hospitality role, ideally within a fast-paced environment

- Strong knowledge of espresso, speciality coffee preparation.

- Excellent customer service skills with a genuine passion for creating memorable experiences





- Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining high standards of quality and presentation

- Good communication and teamwork skills, with a team-oriented approach to working with colleagues

- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and health and safety standards

- Flexibility and willingness to work variable hours, including weekends and public holidays, as required by the hospitality sector

- Point of sale (POS) system experience
