Jacana Energy is the Northern Territory’s government owned electricity retailer, operating in a market undergoing significant reform to deliver sustainable, efficient and reliable services for all Territorians.

Jacana Energy Chair
Jacana Energy supplies electricity to residential and business customers across the Northern Territory as a government owned corporation. We are seeking to appoint a Chair with solid leadership capability to provide governance and strategic direction, ensure the business model aligns with the core functions of an electricity retailer in the Northern Territory market, and improve operational, commercial and financial performance.

Jacana Energy Non-Executive Directors
We are also seeking to appoint a Non-Executive Director to the Jacana Energy Board.
Directors work closely with the Northern Territory Government to ensure investments, decisions, policies and practices support the government’s objectives. The Directors will also oversee the achievement of key performance indicators and fiscal targets consistent with shareholder expectations.
The Chair and Non-Executive Director should be familiar with Northern Territory Government electricity industry policy,



shareholder expectations, and demonstrate expertise in several of the following areas:

- Executive or board-level strategic leadership, government and stakeholder relations, and sound independent judgement.
- Business and financial management, commercial acumen and corporate governance.
- Electricity retail operations, energy trading and customer experience in a competitive or reforming market.
- Regulatory frameworks in the energy sector, and public accountability in line with the Government Owned Corporations Act 2001.
- Technology-enabled business transformation.
