We’re looking for experienced 10 Yard Drivers to join our Fleet Division. These roles will suit reliable operators who take pride in their truck, drive safely in changing site conditions, and understand the importance of clean, well-maintained equipment. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining vehicles and equipment. As a 10-Yard Truck Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of our fleet/equipment throughout Tasmania. Your expertise and professionalism will be essential to maintaining our reputation for reliability and safety in the industry.

About the Role

- Based in Ulverstone, with a mix of local and statewide work.

- Casual to start, with the potential to move to full time role.

- Penalty rates and allowances apply to overtime and weekend work as per the Building and Construction General On-Site Award.

Key Tasks

- Plan and execute transport routes, considering load specifications, road conditions, and delivery schedules

- Secure and restrain heavy loads appropriately to ensure safe transportation

- Communicate effectively with management, clients and other team members

- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of vehicles and report any mechanical issues promptly

- Contribute to a safety-conscious workplace culture by adhering to all safety protocols and procedures

- Operate 10-yard vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently in compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations

- Plan and execute transport routes, considering load specifications, road conditions, and delivery schedules

- Secure and restrain heavy loads appropriately to ensure safe transportation

- Communicate effectively with management, clients and other team members

- Operate 10 yard /Tray and Spreader box.

- Complete daily pre-start checks, report faults early, and carry out basic maintenance where required.

- Keep trucks clean, tidy and well-presented inside and out.

- Complete Driver Diaries (NHVR), delivery dockets and other paperwork accurately.





- Ensure compliance with road safety, load restraint and site safety requirements.

- Work independently and as part of a team, with care and attention to detail.

- Assist other divisions with fleet-related or general site tasks as needed.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential:

- Current HR or HC Truck Licence

- White Card (Construction Induction Card)

- Experience operating heavy vehicles safely in civil construction or similar environments

- Strong care and respect for trucks, including cleaning, presentation and basic maintenance

- Good attention to detail with paperwork, pre-starts and load restraint

- Physically fit and able to perform manual outdoor work when required

- Reliable, consistent work ethic

- Willingness to do callouts and weekend work where required (penalty rates apply)

- Team player with a positive attitude and good communication skills

Desirable:

- Experience operating 10-Yard Trucks, Spreader Box running/Tag Float

- Basic mechanical knowledge and confidence identifying issues before they become bigger problems
