As a Semi-Trailer Fitter, you will work as part of our skilled fit-out team, transforming painted and fabricated skeletal livestock trailers into completed, road-ready equipment.
Key responsibilities
- Installing and plumbing BPW airbag suspension and axle systems
- Installing, plumbing and testing trailer air-brake systems
- Completing trailer electrical wiring, lighting and fault-finding
- Fitting major semi-trailer components and accessories
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Completing quality-control checks
- Diagnosing and resolving fit-out issues
- Assisting and supporting other members of the fit-out team
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and to Rytrans quality standards
About you
- Previous experience in semi-trailer fitting or heavy-vehicle fit-out
- Knowledge of BPW suspension, axle and airbag systems
- Experience plumbing trailer air-brake and suspension systems
- Experience with trailer electrical wiring, lighting and diagnostics
- A sound understanding of complete semi-trailer assembly
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Pride in producing high-quality finished equipment
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A positive attitude and strong commitment to workplace safety
- Relevant trade qualifications will be highly regarded; however, extensive practical experience within the semi-trailer or heavy-transport industry will also be considered
