Workfast is looking for RIW Commissioning Electricians to join the various Sydney Metro projects on the rail corridor in Bankstown.

This is a high-profile rail infrastructure project offering long-term, stable work in a safety-focused environment.

We’re seeking trade-qualified electricians with current RIW accreditation who can hit the ground running on site.

Ideal candidates will have previous rail or large infrastructure experience and be comfortable working in a high-compliance environment.

What You Get

- $60/hour + super + allowances + penalties

- 10-12 hour shifts, Monday to Friday

What You Need

- Electrical Licence (NSW)

- Current RIW card

- White Card

- Previous experience on infrastructure or rail projects

- Own hand tools and PPE

- Available for immediate start

What You Will Be Doing

- Commission, test and fault-find rail control panels, electrical control systems and associated equipment.

- Complete electrical wiring, termination and point-to-point testing of control panels.

- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control drawings and cable schedules.

- Conduct continuity, insulation resistance and functional testing of electrical circuits.

- Test and verify I/O, relays, contactors, terminals, power supplies and control circuits.

- Carry out pre-commissioning inspections and ensure panels are wired and labelled correctly.





- Perform point-to-point checks between control panels, field devices and associated rail equipment.

- Identify and rectify wiring faults, incorrect terminations and electrical defects during commissioning.

- Assist with FAT/SAT testing and commissioning activities in accordance with project specifications.

- Test control panel functionality and confirm equipment operates correctly under normal and fault conditions.

- Assist with energisation and controlled testing of electrical systems in accordance with site procedures.

- Work in accordance with rail safety, electrical safety, isolation/LOTO and project-specific requirements.

- Carry out fault-finding using electrical test equipment and diagnostic tools.

- Support final testing, system handover and close-out of commissioning defects.

- Maintain a clean, organised and safe work area throughout installation and commissioning activities.
