Registered Nurse | Specialised Dementia Care Unit
Bene Aged Care is seeking a highly experienced Registered Nurse with a minimum of four years' dementia care experience to join our dedicated Specialised Dementia Care Unit at St Agnes Residential Facility.

About Your Role
As a Registered Nurse within our Specialised Dementia Care Unit, you will provide high-quality clinical care while promoting the dignity, independence, and quality of life of residents living with dementia.
You will utilise your clinical expertise and leadership skills to support residents with complex care needs, guide care teams, and contribute to a positive and therapeutic living environment.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver evidence-based, person-centred nursing care that aligns with contemporary aged care and dementia care best practice
- Undertake comprehensive clinical assessments and monitor residents' health and wellbeing
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Support residents experiencing complex behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD)
- Lead, mentor, and support Care Workers and Enrolled Nurses on shift
- Develop and review care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and the multidisciplinary team
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Foster a calm, respectful, and engaging environment that supports residents' emotional and physical wellbeing
- Liaise effectively with families, medical practitioners, allied health professionals, and external stakeholders
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and accreditation activities
What You’ll Bring
Essential:
- Current AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum 4 years' recent experience working with people living with dementia within residential aged care, memory support, specialised dementia care, behavioural support, mental health, or related clinical settings
- Demonstrated experience managing complex behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD)
- Strong understanding of contemporary dementia care practices and person-centred care principles
- Proven ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate clinical care
- Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to mentor and support care teams
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
- Strong clinical judgement and decision-making capabilities
- Commitment to delivering compassionate, respectful, and high-quality care
- Current National Police Check
- Current First Aid and Manual Handling certification, or willingness to obtain
Desirable:
- Experience working within a Specialised Dementia Care Unit (SDCU) or Memory Support Unit
- Postgraduate qualifications or additional training in Dementia Care, Gerontology, Mental Health Nursing, Behaviour Support, or related fields
- Experience leading teams supporting residents with complex behavioural presentations
- Italian language skills
