About the role

Lead the people agenda at a major residential mining operation in Central West New South Wales. Partner with operational leaders to build a high-performing, compliant and engaged workforce. Shape practical people strategies that deliver safe, sustainable business outcomes. This is a visible, site-based leadership role with the opportunity to influence workforce capability, culture and organisational performance.

Key responsibilities
Provide trusted, commercially focused advice to project leaders and employees across the full employee lifecycle
Lead strategic workforce planning that aligns talent, capability and resourcing with operational priorities
Manage complex employee and labour relations matters, including collective bargaining agreement compliance
Conduct non-escalated business integrity and compliance investigations with fairness, discretion and sound judgement
Oversee disciplinary processes, case management and labour risk mitigation, including preparation for potential industrial unrest
Deliver enterprise people programs,



engagement initiatives and listening surveys that strengthen culture and performance
Use workforce data, trends and insights to identify risks, improve processes and support informed decisions
Lead, coach and develop a capable People team through explicit priorities, constructive feedback and recognition
Champion change management initiatives and foster an inclusive, collaborative workplace where people can thrive

About you
A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline
Strong working knowledge of Australian employment law, HR best practice and industrial relations frameworks
Proven experience managing employee relations, investigations, disciplinary matters and workplace risk
Confidence influencing senior operational leaders in a complex, quick-paced environment
Exceptional communication, advisory and stakeholder management skills
Robust analytical thinking and the ability to translate people data into practical action
A calm, credible, inclusive and outcomes-focused leadership style
