Love meeting people, enjoy hostel life and looking for a flexible role with plenty of free time?
The Fenway is a newly opened boutique hostel in Launceston, offering high-quality shared accommodation for 90+ guests. We're looking for two friendly, responsible live-in Hosts to join our team.
About the role
You'll work alongside one other live-in Host, alternating Lead Host days and supporting each other across the week. On your Lead days, you'll work around 6 paid hours, spread across the day. Because the work is spread across set periods of the day, there is plenty of downtime between Host responsibilities. This could be an ideal role for someone studying or working remotely, provided your other commitments can fit around the required Host duties.
Key responsibilities
Morning reception, bookings and housekeeping preparation
Pre-arrival property and room checks
Afternoon reception and guest check-ins
Welcoming guests and helping create a friendly hostel atmosphere
Monitoring guest communications and assisting with late arrivals
About you
Friendly, reliable, organised and comfortable taking responsibility
Comfortable living in shared accommodation
Able to use basic booking and communication systems
Able to work independently
Able to help maintain a safe, welcoming workplace for guests
Hospitality or hostel experience is excellent, but attitude and fit are more key
Perks
Around 21 paid hours per week alternating Lead Host days
Free accommodation at The Fenway – valued at $350 per week
Additional paid housekeeping and property work available
Plenty of downtime around your Host responsibilities
Full training in established systems and processes
A fun, social role meeting travellers from Australia and around the world
