The primary duties of the Engineer are:
Develop practical and effective engineering solutions for materials handling applications.
Produce mechanical designs, drawings, and models using SolidWorks and DraftSight.
Liaise with manufacturing personnel to support fabrication and assembly activities.
Perform Engineering/Design Calculations & FEA where required.
Adherence to Australian standards & good engineering practice.
Compile project documentation (OPM, QA, RAEF, JWC, BOM)
Conduct site visits to assess customer requirements and develop practical engineering solutions.
Desirable skills required for this role include:
Solid mechanical aptitude with sound fundamentals in solid mechanics and thermal/fluid concepts, applied to real‑world engineering problems.
Ability to apply engineering concepts to practical, real-world problems.
Practical understanding of fabrication, assembly, and manufacturing processes, with an ability to design-for-manufacture.
Willingness to learn, improve, and contribute positively as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate with tradesman, customers, management.
Proficient in Microsoft Office package
Commitment to quality and professionalism, with pride taken in delivering sound engineering outcomes.
Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering preferred; applicants with a Diploma in Engineering and robust, demonstrable practical engineering and fabrication experience will also be considered.
