Role Description The Positive Behaviour Therapist will provide individualized behaviour assessments and develop evidence-based behaviour support plans for clients. Day-to-day tasks include conducting client observations, collecting and analyzing behavioural data, implementing intervention strategies, and reviewing progress with clients and their support networks. The therapist will collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to train them in positive behaviour strategies and ensure consistent implementation.
This is a part time hybrid role based in Melbourne, VIC, with a combination of in office client visits and work-from-home responsibilities such as documentation,
telehealth sessions, and case coordination. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, adhering to relevant legislation and guidelines, and participating in ongoing career development.
Qualifications
Demonstrated skills in behavioural assessment, functional analysis, and development of positive behaviour support plans.
Ability to implement and monitor evidence-based interventions and track behavioural outcomes.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with clients, families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams.
Capacity to provide training and coaching to support networks on positive behaviour strategies and crisis prevention.
NDIS suitable behaviour support practitioner or willing to obtain one.
Relevant tertiary qualification in psychology, behaviour analysis, social work, occupational therapy, or a related field.
Experience working with people with disability, autism, or complex behavioural needs, preferably within NDIS or similar frameworks.
Commitment to person-centered, trauma-informed, and non-restrictive practice; registration or membership with a relevant professional body is highly regarded.
