About the role The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a range of fabrication duties, working from drawings and specifications to produce high-quality steel and aluminium components and structures. You will work closely with our fabrication and welding team to ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, and within required timeframes.
Key responsibilities
Fabricating steel and aluminium components and structures
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and workshop plans
Measuring, marking, cutting, drilling and preparing materials
MIG/TIG welding and general welding duties
Grinding, sanding and finishing fabricated products
Using hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery
Ensuring fabricated products meet required specifications and quality standards
Assisting with installation and site work when required
Loading and unloading materials
Maintaining a clean, protected and organised workshop
About you
Minimum 2 years' experience as a Fabricator or Metal Fabricator
Relevant trade qualification is highly desirable
Strong experience working with steel and/or aluminium
Ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings
Competent welding and fabrication skills
Good knowledge of fabrication tools and workshop equipment
Solid attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to accurately measure and work to specifications
Good problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
