We are seeking an experienced Fabricator to join our workshop team.
The successful applicant will be responsible for fabricating premium aluminium trays, canopies and related 4x4 components. This is a hands-on role requiring robust aluminium welding skills, accuracy and pride in producing consistently high-quality work.
Key responsibilities
Fabricate aluminium trays, canopies, toolboxes and associated components
Perform MIG and TIG welding to a high standard
Read and interpret technical drawings, plans and measurements
Complete products accurately according to approved designs and specifications
Grind, sand and finish external welds to achieve a seamless appearance
Check measurements, alignment and component fitment throughout fabrication
Identify and report drawing, material or manufacturing issues
Work closely with the design, assembly and vehicle fitting teams
Complete assigned work within production schedules
Maintain a clean, organised and protected workshop
Correctly use and care for workshop machinery, welding equipment and tools
Follow workplace health and safety procedures
Assist with assembly, vehicle fitment and general workshop duties when required
Skills and experience
Demonstrated experience in aluminium fabrication
Competent MIG and TIG welding skills
Ability to read and work from fabrication drawings
Strong measuring, cutting, preparation and assembly skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to achieve clean welds and premium finished surfaces
Good time management and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and within a small team
Reliable, punctual and able to follow production processes
Strong awareness of workshop safety
Genuine pride in workmanship
Highly regarded
Relevant fabrication, welding or boilermaking qualification
Experience manufacturing aluminium trays, canopies or toolboxes
Previous experience within the 4x4, automotive or vehicle-body industry
Experience with CNC laser-cut and folded components
Experience fitting fabricated products to vehicles
Current Australian driver’s licence
Forklift licence
Pay: $40.00 – $50.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 38.0 per week
