About Us

Engineering Obsession is a proudly WA-owned manufacturing business based in Bibra Lake. Established in 2010, we have grown steadily, building a strong reputation for quality workmanship in heat exchangers and specialised welding. We are looking for motivated individuals to join our team in one of three apprenticeships:
Apprentice Boilermaker
Apprentice Machinist
Apprentice Sheet Metal Fabricator

These roles offer the prospect to learn a trade, gain hands-on experience and develop your skills in a supportive setting alongside experienced tradespeople.

What You’ll Learn

Apprentice Boilermaker
Fabricate and assemble steel components
Weld, cut and prepare materials
Read and interpret engineering drawings
Safely use fabrication equipment, hand tools and power tools

Apprentice Machinist
Operate manual and CNC machinery
Manufacture precision components
Read engineering drawings and specifications
Use measuring and inspection equipment
Set up machines and tooling

Apprentice Sheet Metal Fabricator
Mark out, cut,



form and assemble sheet metal components
Operate fabrication equipment, including guillotines, press brakes and rollers
Develop welding and metal finishing skills
Read engineering drawings and specifications
Measure and inspect finished work

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for applicants who:
Have a genuine interest in engineering and learning a trade
Are reliable, punctual and willing to learn
Take pride in producing quality work
Have valuable communication and teamwork skills
Show robust attention to detail
Understand the importance of workplace safety

A driver’s licence and reliable transport are preferred. A relevant pre-apprenticeship or work experience is advantageous but not essential. School leavers, mature-age applicants and candidates who have already started an apprenticeship are encouraged to apply.
